The Gladys Porter Zoo will celebrate National Kids Day by hosting the 19th Annual Kids Appreciation Day, presented by H-E-B, on Saturday, August 5th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Parents of children ages 2-13 can pick up an admit one child free with paid adult admission coupon for Kids Appreciation Day at any H-E-B location in Brownsville. These passes can only be used on August 5th.
At Kids Appreciation Day, children will receive a passport that will take them on a trek around the Zoo where they can visit various activity stations centered around health and wellness, safety, animal conservation, and more. This event is the perfect way for Valley residents to spend quality time with their children while simultaneously preparing for the upcoming school year.
The first 1,000 children to receive their passports will also receive a goodie bag filled with school supplies to help them kick-start the upcoming school year. Once their passport is complete, children can enter a raffle to win bicycles, gift cards, and backpacks filled with even more school supplies.
“The Zoo is a big supporter of education so being able to distribute 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to our Valley students is something we look forward to every year, and we are especially grateful to H-E-B for their continued support of the Zoo and for helping us to achieve this,” said Cynthia Garza-Galvan, Marketing Director.
This event was made possible thanks to H-E-B, Brownsville Public Utilities Board, the City of Brownsville, Aqua Tots, Digital 101.5, NBC 23, and CBS 4.
