Gladys Porter Zoo Discount Weekends Offer Big Savings!

Gladys Porter Zoo will have special discount admission prices for select weekends only. Guests can rack up some impressive savings with 60 to 88 percent off regular admission rates and enjoy some of the Zoo’s most popular attractions like the Soaring Eagle Zipline and Giraffe Landing Feeding Experience. 

 

Admission for Brownsville residents will be only $2.00 per adult or child on September 5th, 6th and 7th. The following weekend on September 12th, 13th and 14th, Lower Valley Discount Days will be held for residents of Cameron County, Willacy County and Matamoros, Mexico. Admission will be $6.00 per adult (ages 14+) and $4.00 per child (ages 2 to 13).

 

Upper Valley residents can take advantage of this discount on October 10th, 11th and 12th. The admission rate will be $6.00 per adult and $4.00 per child for those living in Hidalgo County, Starr County, Reynosa, and Nuevo Progreso. 

 

When purchasing tickets at the gate, guests will need to present proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, to receive the discounted rate. Only one person per family or group will need to provide proof of residency. Visitors living outside of the United States may present a passport or other identification to satisfy this requirement.

 

Since opening in 1971, the Gladys Porter Zoo has been dedicated to the conservation and preservation of nature. The Zoo is currently home to approximately 1,800 animals representing over 320 different species. Guest favorites include the Zoo’s troop of Western lowland gorillas as well as the feeding stations at the giraffes, flamingos and Galapagos tortoises. Also, back at the Zoo after nine years are emus! Stop by Australia to see the four new emus in their outdoor habitat.
